I turn messy software and ML problems into production systems and decision-ready guidance. Expect candor, tight feedback loops, and solutions that survive contact with reality.

My areas of scientific expertise:

• Large‑scale AI/ML for ecology, biology, cryptography and other scientific domains (BioCLIP, KABR, Salsa Fresca).
• Designing rigorous model and system evaluations (Mind2Web, MMMU, BioBench, Mind the Gap)
• Interpreting AI/ML system predictions for non-experts (sparse autoencoders).

Rate and Billing

Scheduled live calls are billed at $450/hr (30-min minimum). For our first call, preparation/review of relevant materials is free, and a post‑call summary is included.

Any substantive off-call work (reviewing reports, writing advice, code review, tech support) is billed at the same rate, rounded to the nearest 15 min. Scheduling emails are free. I do not join client Slack or other chat workspaces; e-mail only.

Contract Work

For multi‑week or retainer engagements, we draft a statement of work using the same hourly rate or a fixed‑fee structure.
